What is FAAB?
Free Agent Acquisition Budget is the blind-auction currency most season-long leagues use for waiver pickups. Spend it early and you're broke by November; hoard it and the league's best streaming target goes for $3. The whole game is price calibration.
How the calculator works
The tool builds a bidding scale from your remaining budget: about 30% for your top priority, 20% for the next, stepping down through the seventh, then adjusts by roster need — desperate adds bid 25% harder, luxury adds 30% softer. It shows the full priority table so you can see tomorrow's costs before today's bid.
Common use cases
- Wednesday night waiver claims in football
- Breaking a tie between two claims you can't afford both ways
- End-of-season budget discipline (save $ for playoff streamers)
Formula & honesty
Percentages are heuristics from common league practice, not magic — adjust for league spending culture (some leagues burn half the budget by October).

Keep at least 20–30% banked from week 10 onward — playoff streamers win championships.
Does this work for NFL-only?
The scale works for any sport using FAAB — football, baseball, basketball and hockey leagues all run it.
